Who is going to buy Sun Life? Guggenheim Partners, of course.
If you are an avid reader of the Annuity Think Tank blog, you are probably sick and tired of hearing about Guggenheim Partners LLC buying up insurance companies. Well, I wish I could say this blog was going to be about something else, but it is not. Guggenheim is now the lead suitor for SunLife Insurance Inc. variable annuity business. They have outbid both Resolution group and JC Flowers and now it looks like Sun Life could fetch over $1 billion. Separately, Guggenheim has been reported to be in a joint bid with Apollo for Aviva USA. This information came directly from an article by Jessica Toonkel.
