Florida Insurance CE Requirements
Every state requires some sort of Continue Education (CE) credits that each producer has to complete to keep his/her life insurance license in good standing. See below for what the Florida Insurance Department requires.
Licensed LESS than 6 years
24 CE hours including 3 hours of senior suitability are required every 2 year license term. Producers planning to sell the following product(s) have special training or education requirements as described below:
Licensed 6 years or MORE
20 CE hours including 3 hours of suitability are required every 2 year license term. Producers planning to sell the following product(s) have special training or education requirements as described below
Special Training/Education Requirements
Long-Term Care Partnership (LTCP)
- Initial 8-hour training requirement: Before selling LTCP policies in Florida, producers must complete an 8-hour state approved LTCP training.
- Ongoing 4-hour training requirement: After completing the initial 8-hour training, producers continuing to sell LTCP must complete a 4-hour ongoing training every 2 calendar years after the initial completion.
License Term
The license term is every 2 years ending on the last day of the licensee’s birth month after the licensee has been licensed 24 months.
